The Girl and the Snake
Painter, Photoshop
January 2009

The subject is an interpretation of the term "Exhileration" and what it could mean to me. I used it to represent the feeling you can get from reading a good book. It took a bit to sketch it and take the reference pictures (of myself) to model the person (the outfit is mine).

I used part of a arial photo of a cityscape for the ground below and drew, scanned, and painted the dragon. The dragon was made from the ground up, complete with skeletal, form, muscluar structure and final design. I used Painter for the background layout, and then Photoshop for the layer construction for all of the elements. The final detail works were done mostly on Painter, but a few revisions were done on Photoshop.

This was an enjoyable piece to work with, and I was still a newbe with Painter (barely a couple of months of usage). I think just a general critique will do for this piece. Basic opinions, recommendations, comments and so forth. I hope to work more with such themes again.
